ATR is a Nitecore patented technology that monitors the internal temperature of the flashlight in real time. When the light is on turbo and the LED begins to heat up, ATR smoothly reduces the output just enough to prevent overheating, then automatically increases brightness again once the light cools. This protects the LED and electronics, while still giving you the maximum safe brightness for the conditions.
